Adapting to college is hard! New students are confused and most times do not know where to find resources in their higher education institutions. Higher education also referred to as post-secondary or tertiary education is the education given after secondary education in colleges of education, monotechnics, polytechnics and universities and those institutions offering correspondence courses. Higher education has been recognized as a fundamental instrument for the construction of a knowledge economy and the development of human capital all over the world. However, Quality higher education is dependent on the quality and quantity of human and material resources put in place in institutions of higher learning. Tertiary institutions in Nigeria are well known to be lacking various resources, facilities, and information and communication technology facilities.
What Is CampusHub and how does it make adapting to College/University easy?
CampusHub is a company that connects and facilitates learning and collaboration between tertiary institutions. It started as a Hackathon project at the 2019 NaijaHacks Hackathon and they got into the AfricaHacks incubation program.
The team at Campus is tackling the lack of real-time collaboration tools for research, project development and sharing of ideas and also difficulty in finding free and affordable past questions and learning resources to practice before examination.
Members of CampusHub
CampusHub is founded by 2 students of Federal Polytechnic Ede, Computer Science department who are Ajiferuke Oluwatomiwa and Adeyemo Josiah. Ajiferuke Oluwatomiwa is a 22 years old guy who believes he can change the world through his programming skills.
The company has released the first version of the mobile app during March. The app is embedded with a provision of a local guide system similar to Google Maps to be versatile with various places in a particular institution when visiting for the first time or vice versa and also providing real-time collaboration tools for research, project development and sharing of ideas and also difficulty in finding free and affordable past questions and learning resources to practice before examination.
What is the Future of CampusHub?
With a lot of students having inadequate learning tools and platforms to practice their readiness towards exams, Campus serves as sustainable medium students in various tertiary institutions can access free and affordable past questions. CampusHub serves as an intermediary bridging the gap between students, lecturers, and staff between various institutions. And this makes adapting to college life easier for new students.
